Susan Utell began her editing career at the Bay Area's first full-fledged post-production facility, One Pass Film & Video. At One Pass, Susan worked with advertising agencies JWT NY/Chicago, McCann-Erickson, Foot Cone & Belding, Hal Riney & Associates, Goodby Silverstein & Partners, Young & Rubicam and Goldberg Moser O'Neill.

After leaving One Pass, Susan began a successful freelance career. She has cut documentaries for National Geographic, Smithsonian, PBS, Disney, Travel, Discovery and History Channels, as well as commercials and marketing films for Fortune 500 companies.

Susan edited Guthy-Renker’s infomercial “Personal Power II: The Driving Force”, starring Tony Robbins and host Leeza Gibbons. The show was awarded infomercial of the year in 1997. Recently, Susan cut a four-film DVD package of financial tips for Robbins Research International that was hosted by Tony Robbins and featured financial luminaries Harry Dent and John Templeton.

Other recent work includes editing for Organic, Young & Rubicam, and Lucasfilm, as well as videos for Adobe’s CS5 product launch.

Susan was the producer, director and editor of the short “Lightforms” which was shown at the Mill Valley Film Festival. For the Merce Cunningham Foundation, she edited dance performances that are part of the permanent archives at New York’s Museum of Modern Art.

Susan is fluent in both Avid and Final Cut Pro systems. She is an expert post-supervisor, with a great eye for design, and she is friendly.
